The Hammonton Lions hold two major fundraisers
during the year: The Annual Great Cash Giveaway
a.k.a. Gold Raffle held in December and the
club's participation in the Red, White, and
Blueberry Festival hel in July. Both events
require a high degree of planning, organization
and cooperation. A majority of the members
participate in some way in both projects.
The funds raised from these events provide
the monies which the club donates to Lions
and community projects. Promotion of Lions
projects in the newspapers, online and other
media is essential to their success. The
publicity promotes the positive image of
the- club and is a factor in attracting members
who want to part of such an organization.
The club has a busy year which is designed
to invigorate
members not to overburden them.
The club
meets September to May, recessing
for the
summer months. Only one meeting is
help
during December and January. Both breaks
give
members more time be with their families,
do other
things and also to refresh themselves
for upcoming
club activities.
With all this activity, the Hammonton Lions
easily assimilates new members. They are
encouraged to participate in projects but
never coerced and never, never named chairman
of a major project unless they volunteer.
However, members know that when they take
on the responsibility of a project that the
club will totally support them.
