  My Mission

  My personal mission is to
  provide effective and age-
  appropriate English language
  instruction (listening,
  speaking, reading, and
  writing), and to support
  English Language Learners
  to achieve in all content
  areas, grades 1-6.  I'm very
  dedicated to enhance our
  entire staff's ability to meet
  our academic mission and
  link our diverse community to
  our schools. Through the
  inclusion of parents,
  community members,
  community resources, parent
  liaisons, and interpreters, the
  Galloway Township School
  District works to provide a
  well-rounded support base
for all of the ELL families in
  our schools

Curriculum Overview: This is a developmental language program for non-native
speakers. Instruction is provided to develop proficiency in listening comprehension,
speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. The program is consistent with a
program plan filed each July with the State Department of Education and updated
each October. Students included in the program are identified as limited English
proficient in accordance with assessment procedures prescribed by the state.
Students are exited upon meeting state established cut-off scores on a language
proficiency test. The main goals are to prepare students to function successfully in
mainstreamed classes to provide enough "survival" English to enable students to
  function in their new community.
  Curriculum Objectives:
  Students will:
  ·
develop a positive self image within the context of their own heritage and
within the larger context of the total society
  ·

fruitfully determine, understand, and examine his capacities, interests, and
  goals in terms of society
  ·
cherish values and pride of identity
